CritterCell – the well-designed breeding container for spiderlings, juvenile spiders, and spider breeders. Whether for compact rearing of many small spiderlings or more space for larger juvenile spiders, the CritterCell is designed as a practical system that makes everyday life easier, cleaner, and significantly more efficient.

The CritterCell is available in different versions. Simply choose the right size for your animal and its intended use.

CritterCell S – for many spiderlings and efficient serial breeding
The CritterCell S is the compact version for smaller spiderlings, early breeding stages, and keepers or breeders with many containers.

Especially small classic breeding containers are often annoying in everyday life: thin material, stuck lids, broken edges, tipping containers, and chaos on the shelf. The CritterCell S is designed to make precisely this everyday life much more pleasant.

It is the small variant within the CritterCell system and is particularly suitable when many spiderlings need to be cared for clearly, safely, and efficiently.

CritterCell L – for larger spiderlings and juvenile spiders
The CritterCell L is the larger variant for juvenile spiders, larger spiderlings, and transition phases when a small breeding container slowly becomes too small, but moving to the BioFaunaCube or a larger terrarium is not yet ideal.

It looks clean, high-quality, and significantly less DIY than classic cup solutions. No improvised lid, no messy ventilation, and no unnecessary fumbling – but a ready-made breeding container with easy handling and strong design.

CritterCell Lid & Ventilation:
– Drosophila-proof ventilation mesh in the lid
– Generous ventilation area depending on the variant
– Integrated rotating opening for spraying and feeding
– Smaller feeder insects can be introduced without having to remove the entire lid every time
– Cleaner and more practical than self-made ventilation solutions

Additional side ventilation with the Universal Drilling Template
The CritterCell S and CritterCell L already have a lid with a generous ventilation area and drosophila-proof ventilation mesh. Depending on the species, development stage, setup, location, or desired humidity, additional side ventilation may be useful.

With the separately available CritterCell Universal Drilling Template, additional ventilation openings can be cleanly and evenly made in both CritterCell sizes. A single template is suitable for CritterCell S and CritterCell L and comes with a suitable 1mm drill bit.

The template is simply placed on the CritterCell. The pre-defined guide holes ensure that the additional openings are arranged straight and evenly. This means that the positions do not have to be measured individually or marked freehand, and the clean appearance of the CritterCell is maintained.

Hole pattern for CritterCell S:
– 2 rows with 5 possible drill holes each
– A total of 10 possible ventilation openings
– First row of holes approx. 10 mm above the container bottom
– Second row of holes approx. 15 mm above the container bottom
– Even spacing of 5 mm between the holes
– Drill bit diameter: 1 mm

Hole pattern for CritterCell L:
– 4 rows with 13 possible drill holes each
– A total of 52 possible ventilation openings
– First row of holes approx. 10 mm above the container bottom
– Second row of holes approx. 15 mm above the container bottom
– Third row of holes approx. 40 mm above the container bottom
– Fourth row of holes approx. 45 mm above the container bottom
– Even spacing of 5 mm between the holes
– Drill bit diameter: 1 mm

Not all intended openings need to be drilled. Depending on the desired ventilation, individual holes, selected rows, or the complete hole pattern can be used.

Compatibility with CritterLatch:
With the appropriate CritterLatch Adapter, the CritterCell can be used with the CritterLatch system. This allows drosophila and other suitable feeder insects to be fed much faster, cleaner, and more controlled.

Especially with many spiderlings, this is a great advantage: fewer open containers, fewer escaped feeder insects, less time wasted, and a significantly more efficient feeding process.

The CritterCell is not just a single breeding container, but part of a growing system for spider keepers and breeders.

With the CritterLatch Adapter, feeding can be made more efficient. The CritterCell Universal Drilling Template allows for a clean expansion of side ventilation. Especially for the CritterCell S, additional accessories are available that make life easier for keepers and breeders with many spiderlings.

These include solutions for better organization, color coding, secure arrangement, stacking, and faster work with many containers. The goal: less chaos, fewer broken standard containers, more overview, and a significantly more efficient breeding routine.

Note:
Suitability always depends on the species, size, and behavior of the animal. Please regularly check whether the size, ventilation, setup, and humidity are suitable for the respective spider.

Additional 1mm drill holes may alter the escape-proofness for very small animals or feeder insects. The modified CritterCell must be independently checked for its suitability and escape-proofness before each use.
