Food & Minerals for Invertebrates

Food & Minerals for Invertebrates

Pragmatic, natural and suitable for terrariums: In this category you will find food and mineral sources for invertebrates such as isopods , millipedes & Co. – so that your animals get what really counts in the setup: reliable supply, easy to replenish and without "DIY solutions".

Minerals in the terrarium – why this is important:
Many invertebrates use minerals like calcium as building blocks – for example, for their shells/exoskeletons and growth. Therefore, an easily accessible mineral source in the aquarium is a simple yet effective basic element for any invertebrate setup.

Sepia Eco-Grade (shell & broken pieces):
Cuttlebone is the inner calcareous shell of the cuttlefish and is used in terrariums as a natural calcium source. We offer it as Eco-Grade – meaning it's in its natural state and not pre-sorted. Patina, color variations, and minor visual irregularities are normal. For invertebrates, function is what matters – and less sorting means more resource conservation instead of unnecessary waste.

Shell or fracture – in short, the difference:
Cuttlebone : ideal as a permanent “mineral spot” in the terrarium.
Cuttlefish bone fragments : mixed pieces that you can easily distribute and offer in several places.

Practical tip: Don't place the cuttlebone in a "clinical" way – but rather in the way your animals move around: partly in the substrate or under bark at the edge of the humid zone. This way it remains easily accessible, is used, and doesn't constantly fly around the enclosure.

Whether for a beginner setup or breeding: with suitable feed and mineral products you can keep the supply stable – and your animals can help themselves as needed.
