Magnetic bowls
Are the bowls and holders dishwasher safe?
In short: NO – we advise against it.
The bowls are made of food-safe polypropylene . Molded-in, sealed magnets are located in both the holder and the bowl . High dishwasher heat can damage the magnets and the seal . The bowl itself is dishwasher-safe, but we still recommend hand-washing . You'll learn how best to do this in the next section .
What is the best way to clean the bowls?
Use lukewarm water and a soft sponge . If there are dried-on food residues, soak the bowl, then simply wipe away the residue.
Are the materials used food-safe/animal-safe?
Yes.
Bowl: food-safe polypropylene (PP).
Sealing: food-safe resin that encloses the cast magnets.
Conclusion: safe for you and your animals when used as intended.
Can the magnets rust?
No. The seal prevents the magnets from rusting . Should the seal fail , the magnets are galvanized , providing additional rust protection.
Which bowl size is best for which geckos?
- XS (double bowl, 2 × 0.75 ml) : For raising small species such as Phelsuma and Lygodactylus. Food and minerals can be offered simultaneously.
- S (1.1 ml ): For Phelsuma and Lygodactylus in everyday life – small, manageable portions without waste.
- L (16 ml) : For crested geckos and other larger/stronger species; ideal for CGD portions or more liquid.
