Sphagnum Moss – Terrarium Moss for Humid Zones & Wet Boxes

Sphagnum Moss – Compact brick for terrariums, wet boxes and isopod terrarium setups – 100% natural Sphagnum moss for the terrarium in a handy brick form. When soaked with approx. 1.5 l of lukewarm water, the compact brick expands to approx. 4.5 l of ready-to-use terrarium moss. Ideal for creating a targeted humid zone, a damp retreat, or a practical wet box in a terrarium setup.

Why many keepers use Sphagnum Moss:
– Targeted moisture spot: useful for humid corners, retreats, and microclimate zones
– Practical for isopods: ideal as a humid corner in the terrarium setup, so the animals can orient themselves as needed
– Suitable for animals with higher humidity requirements: e.g., in terrarium setups for frogs, salamanders, lizards, or snakes
– High yield: one brick produces approx. 4.5 l of ready-to-use terrarium moss
– 100% natural: without chemical additives and made from renewable resources
– Also usable for plants: suitable as a moist medium or supplementary base for terrarium plants and orchids

Typical applications (practical):
– Humid zone in an isopod terrarium setup, when an area should remain slightly damp permanently
– Wet box as a moist retreat, e.g., to support during shedding
– Egg-laying site or more protected microclimate areas, depending on species and keeping conditions
– Humidity buffer under bark, moss cushions, or hardscape
– Plants: as a moist medium or additive in the root area

Application:
1) Place the brick in a bucket.
2) Add at least 1.5 l of lukewarm water.
3) Wait briefly until the moss is fully expanded, then fluff it up.
4) Lightly squeeze out the required amount and place it in the terrarium setup.

Pro-Tip for Isopods: Use Sphagnum as a humid island – one corner permanently slightly damp, the rest rather drier. This way, your isopods can orient themselves as needed, without the entire terrarium setup becoming too wet.

Scope of delivery:
– 1× Sphagnum Moss brick 100 g (compact, dry)

Notes:
Natural product – color and structure may vary. Store in a cool, dry place. Rinse briefly before first use. Not suitable for consumption.

For a functioning keeping, the material can be combined well with suitable isopods, food & minerals for invertebrates and other accessories from furnishing, moss & cork.

When soaked with approx. 1.5 l of lukewarm water, one brick yields approx. 4.5 l of ready-to-use terrarium moss.
Can I also use Sphagnum Moss in a wet box?
Yes, Sphagnum Moss is well-suited as an insert for a wet box. There, it can help provide a moist retreat area in the terrarium.
Does the moss need to be prepared before use?
